| Sheila Merica is a Senior teacher with PMC Connection, a certified artisan with Rio Grande and a long time mixed media artist. Sheila has a background in fine arts, finds most of her inspiration from the outdoors, Celtic art motifs, color combinations and the challenge of creating wearable art. “I see art in nature, grand master pieces in the sunsets, and intimate ones in a flower bed or a grove of trees. My goal is to recreate these subleties using beads, wire, polymer clay and metals as my pallate.” She teaches in local studios across Phoenix, and at shows nationwide. “I believe in sharing the joy, the teach it forward principle, and making my mark. Teaching is the best way I have found to achieve this. There is nothing to equal that first time ‘WOW, did I do that’ from a student, as they discover their gift and talent. Making sure that they are receiving quality techniques will guarantee that they can create solid pieces.” Her work is award winning and can be seen in recent issues of Polymer Café and Bead Unique. |
